Description

Acrylic-based antifouling for propellers, motor feet and flaps with high adhesive power and resistance to strong stresses.

  • It is applied in 2 coats, after applying 1 coat of Eliprimer type primer on propellers sanded with coarse-grained paper and degreased with water-soluble detergent (do not use solvents to degrease).
  • It is applied directly on previous layers of paint if well anchored.
  • Do not apply on previous antifoulings of different types.

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE AND APPLICATION CYCLE Unpainted

Metal substrates. Proceed with a thorough degreasing, washing and sanding of the surface. Apply a base coat such as ELIPRIMER. Overpaint with 2 coats of CONTENDER ELICHE respecting the recommended overpainting times.

Supports already painted. If the old paint is in good condition and compatible, apply directly after sanding 2 coats of CONTENDER ELICHE. If the old varnish is in bad condition, proceed with its complete removal; then follow the instructions for unpainted substrates.

Recommendations.  The maximum period of commissioning of the antifouling, after the application of the last coat, is 1 month; with top-of-the-range products based on copper oxide and upon agreement with our technical personnel, the same can extend up to 3 months, provided that the hull is protected from humidity, rain, or atmospheric agents, with plastic or similar material.

Color.  The color of the antifouling after immersion may undergo a slight variation. There may be small differences in color between different production batches: in this case, mix them before application.

Remarks. The values indicated in this technical data sheet may undergo slight variations from one production to another. The applied product must not be put in contact with water, or chemical products or subjected to mechanical stress before complete crosslinking. The thicknesses of the wet film are intended for the undiluted product. With dilution, this value will increase. The above information is the result of accurate laboratory tests and practical experiences, however, given that the product is mainly used outside the manufacturer’s control, the same can only guarantee its continuous quality. The information contained in this sheet may be subject to review by the Company. For clarifications, updates or further information it is advisable to contact the manufacturer directly.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

Before starting paint application please carefully read all the safety precautions indicated on the label of each can or in the product safety data sheet available on request. For further information please do not hesitate to contact our technical staff.
