Increasing propeller pitch generally increases top speed but reduces acceleration and potentially affects engine RPM at wide open throttle (WOT). A higher pitch means the propeller "bites" into the water with more force, pushing the boat further with each rotation, which is beneficial for achieving higher speeds.
